Feeling Stuck

I’m at a point where I’m feeling a little stuck with this project.  I feel like our passion & will is there, but we’re stuck at “go”.   I know it’s not logical nor is it true.  We are moving forward.  But, it’s been a slower process than I wish it to be.   Patience is definitely not one of my virtues.

I think we’ve finally made a decision about how to proceed with the website.  While DJ’s working on that, we need to get going on some outlines for content.  And, we need to get our ducks in a row to figure out how our relationships with the artists are going to be framed.   I also need to get in contact with our graphic designer about logo options.

A list would be a good place to begin, I suppose.  This weekend ~  I’ll put it on my list to create a list (therein lies part of the problem, I fear).

One of the joys of film instead of digital photos is the surprise when you finally get the rolls developed.  This is the Kalamazoo train station from our trip to visit friends and family in October of 2009.

new projects

I’ve been a crocheting fool lately (just ask DJ).  I’ve finished a lot of projects … a scarf & handwarmers for him, a pair of handwarmers for my friend, a hat & wrap / big scarf for me (see below).  I’ve decided that much of the stuff I’ll put on etsy now will be custom items.  Instead of tying up a lot of inventory & storage space we don’t have, I’ll post a photo of an example & let people order it in the color they want.   It’s good to see how many people have looked at the items.  Now, if only people would start buying.  Either way, I’m having fun with it and learning a lot.  Working on another pair of handwarmers in organic cotton in a mustard color.  I’ll post a photo when they’re done.  And they will be on etsy for your purchasing pleasure.

Iwan Ries & Co ~ Chicago

We went downtown this weekend to pick up some pipe supplies for DJ.  I grew up with Dad smoking a pipe & just smelling the tobacco in the shop took me back to childhood immediately.  The building was lovely & old, and made me wish I had brought my “real” camera instead of just having my cellphone.  When / if we go back, I’ll take the Holga for sure.  It was utterly charming.

We needed some “starter cards” to get the BoHub ball rolling.  While we’re waiting on our graphic artist to render more thoughts / possibilities for our logo, we got some Mini Moo cards to use in the mean time.  They’re the basic color scheme we want to use, but no where near the finished look of our adventure.  But, you have to start somewhere, right?

Winter Hibernation

We’ve been quiet lately.  Because it’s been quiet.  Extreme cold weather in Chicago has transported us to hibernation mode.  We’re still working on the backbone of BoHub.  We’re working on projects.  We’re dreaming and forming and trying to get everything right.  We’re plugging along.  I’ll definitely make a longer journal entry about where we are in this process & what the next steps are.  Hopefully this weekend.  No, definitely this weekend.  No more maybes &/or  shoulds.  We need to be doing.
